1.Mechanical Watches
Mechanical watch comprises of the following parts: (1) power mechanism, i.e. mainspring and winding mechanism; (2) gear train; (3) speed regulator, i.e. escapement and balance wheel component; (4) hands and timing mechanism.Mechanical watches include manual and automatic winding types. The spring provides power for mechanical watches. For manual winding mechanical watches, the spring is tightened by manually turning the watch crown to drive the winding mechanism; for automatic winding mechanical watches, the spring is tightened by the natural swinging of the wrist to drive the winding mechanism.
2.Quartz Watches
Quartz watch can be analog, digital or mixed type. It realizes timekeeping by battery power and quartz oscillation. For analog type quartz watches, the battery power drives the quartz to oscillate, and IC board controls step motor to drive the gear train and turn the hands. For digital quartz watches, the time is displayed by a LCD.
3.Chronometer
Highly precises and accurate watch. Successfully tested at different angles and temperatures, and officially licensed by authorities.
4.Multifunction Watches
Watches with additional functions, e.g. chronograph, second time zone, alarm watch, perpetual calendar, minute repeater, etc.
5.Grande Complication
It is a complicated watch with at least perpetual calendar, minute repeater and chronograph (double split seconds) functions or even tourbillon.
6.Minute Repeater
It means that this watch can report minute. When the time reporting sliding spring is turned, hour, quarter and minute will be reported as required.
7.Chronograph
Watches or pocket watches with timing functions (timekeeping, stop and reset).
8.Musical Watch
It is a mechanical watch that can give out music sound at integral point as required. It is available with a disk or drum type movement.
9.Water Resistance
The watch is waterproof, the case, crown and crystal are waterproof and dustproof and maintain waterproof at the specified depth in water. This feature is subject to
regular checking.
10.Jumping Hours (or single-eyed)
The hour hand of the watch is replaced by a dial with numbers 1-12. The dial moves forward by one scale every hour, i.e. the number is changed accordingly every hour. The dial is designed with a small opening to show the number of hour.
11.Antimagnetic Watches
This watch will not be influenced by magnetic field because the balance spring of the balance wheel is made of non-magnetic nickel alloy.
12.Diver's Watch
Specially designed for deep sea diving, generally with a screw-in crown, can withstand 20ATM, i.e. allowing for diving at 200m depth.13. TourbillonIt is rotary escapement regulator in mechanical watches. It is free from the influence of gravity and can maintain accurate operation of the watch. Besides all functions of the escapement regulator for general mechanical watches, its escapement can continuously rotate in 360o around an axis to adjust the position of the system and offset the operation error caused by the gravity in different directions.
13.Tourbillon
It is rotary escapement regulator in mechanical watches. It is free from the influence of gravity and can maintain accurate operation of the watch. Besides all functions of the escapement regulator for general mechanical watches, its escapement can continuously rotate in 360o around an axis to adjust the position of the system and offset the operation error caused by the gravity in different directions.
14.Rhodium Plating
Rhodium is a silvery white noble metal, and expensive. Rhodium plating process is complicated with a high technical requirement. Rhodium plating can offer a hard, abrasion resistant and bright surface and a greatly improved anticorrosion and chemical stability, so as to increase the reliability and service life of the product.
15.Geneva Seal
Geneva Seal system was adopted legally on December 6, 1886, and was updated in 1975, with 11 rules established. On December 22, 1994, Geneva Seal Rules were last revised to 12 rules. The watches are inspected voluntarily and marked with "eagle and key"—the sign of Geneva Seal on the movement if they are found in compliance with the rules.
16.Geneva Stripes
Prior to rhodium plating, elegant decorative parallel waves are carved on the exposed plates and bridges of the movement, i.e. Geneva stripes. Generally, they are available only for high-class watches.
17.Moon Phase
A moon phase watch works by rotating the moon disc on the movement to show moon activities (new moon, last quarter and full moon) through the half-round window on the dial. A correct lunation display is 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 3 seconds. The moon disc is designed with two opposite moons, with 59 teeth on the circumference and will rotate by 1 cycle every 59 days, or 2 lunar months.
18.Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
GMT is the abbreviation of Greenwich Mean Time, also known as Universal Time (UT). Greenwich is where the UK observatory situates, which is the starting point of longitude in the world.
